Just now I am in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, since a few days. First time in the US, SD is a good place to start :-) The temperature is much like Kiruna but no snow. Looking around there are not so many shops with local traditional stuff to buy, but almost directly I found a scandinavian shop, just like being soemwhere in Sweden again. A block away is De Hoek (the corner that means and it is on a corner) which is a dutch shop, selling all those nice dutch things like "stroppwafels" and "speculaas". The owner has a dutch background, and there are apparently many people with either dutch or scandinavian backgrounds here. There is a Dutch Reformed Church.

Tomorrow the NAIITS conference s to start, NAIITS is North American Institute for Indigenous Theological Studies. Theme is reconciliation and decolonization. My contribution will be on the situatin of the Sámi in the churches in Scandinavia.
The picture shows the Falls - look at the snow and ice!
