Well, the snow did not last. After having been away for a week (visiting my parents in the Netherlands, where temperatures were summerlike - around 18 degrees) I was met by the Lapland mountains exploding in yellow and red. Somehow colours are more intense in this area than in the south. Once again one is truck by the beauty of creation.
The next two days we will spend in Killingi, a small village (and I mean small!) far from the main roads, near Kaitum. The churches in Kiruna and Malmberget will have a weekend together, as has become a tradition. Meeting, enjoying the serene beauty of the area, reading, talking and praying together.
The picture shows the beautiful old church of Velp in the Netherlands, 900 years old. This can be compared to the history of Kiruna, which was founded a little over 100 years ago!
